I agree with Loraki. It's good but I do think we need an additional policy to incentivize doctors and hospitals to give out free healthcare. Such as, allow them to subtract the cost of healthcare services and supplies used for free care for the poor directly from their tax bill. That will help those who still can't afford insurance and those with preexisting conditions. Single-payer is not a viable option. Not only does it do away with free choice, but those systems are going bankrupt all over the world, and if the government is the only payer the only way to cut cost is to deny healthcare. Every other entitlement program we have is going bankrupt through miss management, and there's no reason to believe this would be any different. Let me be clear, there is no perfect solution only tradeoffs, but those who tout single-payer as some great solution either doesn't have all the facts or is just a liar.
