My brother-in-law died of ALS IN September. But thanks to the Affordable Care Act, he was able to receive excellent care and top-notch equipment and assistance as his disease progressed. It is true that the deductible he and my sister paid was high--BUT without the ACA, none of the care he received would have been possible, and he would have had very poor quality of life. He would very probably died quite a bit sooner than he did. He was on my sister's insurance. Her employer, a very small business owner, found it necessary to change insurance companies. By the time this happened, my brother-in-law had already been diagnosed. With a pre-existing condition, he WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ELIGIBLE FOR THIS INSURANCE AT ALL. Because of the ACA, we had more time with him, and he was able to be as active as possible as long as possible. PLEASE OPPOSE THE REPEAL OF THE AFFORDABLE CARE ACT!! Please, work to fix the problems with the ACA, rather than throwing the baby out with the bath water. Hundreds of thousands of people are counting on you to make sure they can keep their coverage and stay healthy and productive. Do not disappoint them. It has become clear now that millions of Americans did not fully understand the implications of repealing the ACA. (Indeed, many were not aware that the ACA and "Obamacare" were the same thing. Citizens are armed with knowledge now, and are counting on you to consider THEIR NEEDS, not to vote for something that will be harmful to them, for the sole purpose of fulfilling a dangerous campaign promise. For my brother-in-law, my family, and my fellow Americans, I beg you to oppose the repeal of the ACA. Thank you, gentlemen.
