Studies have continued to show that in states where drug testing was mandated, welfare recipients, by a landslide majority, tested negative. Lifting this restriction would create more needless taxes on American families. This is tax money that can be used to actually help people, instead of telling the poor and needy that their government doesn't trust that they're poor and needy. Plus, I don't see members of congress, with their salary and benefits, rushing to prove that they're drug free. So why the double standard toward the needy?
