At the least. Wages have been stagnant for decades, while costs have continued to rise. The only people doing better off now are the super rich. What happens when people make more money? They perform better because they are less worried about not being able to take care of their family and pay bills. What does that do for business? It improves it. Voting against raising the minimum wage is voting to perpetuate the perception that employees are just machines that can easily be replaced, have no emotions, no needs, no wants, no desire. I've heard people say that giving people more money will make them less likely to try to improve themselves. But ask yourself - when you get a raise, do you work less hard and stop trying to improve yourself? If your answer is no, then why do you think other human beings are different from you?
