Universal paid sick leave is both economically and morally good. The latter is obvious why, but the former is a point worth making. Ensuring that employees have access and funds to good health healthcare keeps them from remaining sick and not having them be forced to work keeps other employees healthier. This makes them all more productive. Additionally, these types of policies keep money flowing in the economy which has a stimulative effect. Austere policies only hurt workers, and the economy writ large.
