Part of the problem we have in Washington now is the intertwined corruption between our government and special interest groups fronted by lobbyists. This needs to be eliminated. Someone who has been in government for a number of years has built up relationships and “favors”. There are two ways that are fairly obvious to do this. One is term limits. Being a member of Congress was never meant to be a lifetime career and it is fairly obvious to anyone that we have a bunch of corrupt deadwood sitting in both houses of Congress. Let’s get rid of them. But with that we need to also send them home taking their corruption with them. Passing a ban on them becoming lobbyists is a step in the right direction.
