Yes! Marijuana is legal recreationally in 11 states thus far with about 22 more legal medically. The federal illegality of marijuana should have nothing to do with allowing banks to accept a legal business in a state to use their bank for their business.
For those I’ve seen posting nah votes don’t seem to understand a few things about marijuana. 1. Marijuana has never been a gateway drug, in truth the only real “gateway” drugs are prescription narcotics. 2. Marijuana has never been linked to result in a single death, when alcohol and car collisions account for a bulk of deaths in America statistically but we haven’t made cars illegal or alcohol illegal (again). 3. As was proven during the early 20th century with the prohibition of alcohol making a substance illegal does nothing but create more crime, Prohibition created in large part the Mobs which took over half a century after to remove. And drug criminalization has created cartels and gangs. 4. Scientifically speaking marijuana is safer on the mind and body than alcohol, alcohol also creates many social issues as it’s a downer that causes many to act violently, being highly destructive to a persons life and family. While marijuana actually helps stimulate the happy parts of your brain and has not been found to cause violence or be destructive to a persons life. 5. It’s a safer pain reliever then every narcotic in existence. 6. A reason it is safer is its the least addictive substance when it comes to narcotics while also being less addictive then coffee, sugar, chocolate and cigarettes. 7. There are many more statements I can make but I will close off with the fact that marijuana as a business is huge not just as a cash crop but for sales, for government taxation and reduces crime without the need for people to go get possibly tainted product from a dealer.
In close it’s about time marijuana was no longer discriminated against and those against it would look at the facts and change their bias. As a personal note I will say that in this country with drugs as a whole they should not be something that is criminalized. We should not be filling our jails with people who have addictions (except for those that have had violent offenses related to sales or manufacturing) we should be putting the money into helping those with addictions overcome their addictions and become better more productive citizens. I hope those who have shown bias or don’t fully understand the facts take their time to not only read what I have said but take the time to find the statistics and facts themselves.
