Vote No! The stream protection rule is a necessary update to mining regulations. Mining companies have shown themselves to be poor stewards of the environment, to say the least. This rule will require some basic protection for 6,000 miles of streams. It will create jobs and protect people from harmful effects of pollution. The mining industry, which has bought congressmen with donations, may benefit in the short term, but the American people will be the losers. Moreover, language in the congressional review act actually prevents the Dept of the Interior from issuing similar regulations in the future. This is a dangerous road.
