Federal funding is already prohibited from going to abortion providers. Preventing government funding from going to abortion providers will limit women’s options and essential services like family planning counseling, access to contraception, testing for sexually transmitted diseases or cancer. On a big picture note, in my opinion, passing anti-abortion legislation in any form from the federal to local levels places the government in a position of establishing a theological point which differs among the faiths - that is when the soul enters the body of the fetus. There is no objective scientific way to prove which faith is right. The government, therefore, cannot establish the correctness of any faith through legislation without violating the separation of church and state in the first amendment.
