Well I am totally offended by the notion that of of our founding fathers and ex-President of the United States is not good enough or 21 century political correct enough to be on our $20 bill. May I remind you that it was this General Andrew Jackson that saved the British from taking over New Orleans and in fact from that battle save the United States.
On January 8, 1815, the United States achieved its greatest battlefield victory of the War of 1812 at New Orleans. The Battle of New Orleans thwarted a British effort to gain control of a critical American port and elevated Major General Andrew Jackson to national fame.
Washington inherited slaves from Lawrence, acquired more as part of the terms of leasing Mount Vernon and inherited slaves again on the death of Lawrence's widow in 1761. On his marriage in 1759 to Martha Dandridge Custis, Washington gained control of eighty-four dower slaves.
Do we rename Washington DC Tubman DC do we rename Washington State Harriet?
So yes Andrew Jackson did own slaves and he even had at least one child with that slave. Note above so did General/President Washington.
Do we rename Jacksonville FL or Jackson, MS another name or do we rename Washington State or Washington DC another name after some black abolitionist specifically a black female abolitionists?
