The 2nd Amendment guarantees gun ownership, but not the inalienable right to do with it what you want wherever you want. Conservatives should hate this bill since it divests states' rights/autonomy. This is not the same as something like gay marriage where states have to recognize marriage from other states. There are no gradations of marriage. The law of the land is everyone can be married and states can't treat people differently based on who they're married to. When it comes to guns, most people have a right to own them, which is a right that cannot be denied by any state. That being said, carrying in public or even concealed carry is something that we as a nation have agreed is an issue best left up to the states in which people live. This bill is a very superficial attempt at allowing citizens of one state to arbitrarily decide the laws of another don't apply.
