It is the sitting president's obligation to appoint Supreme Court justices, no matter when in the term they are. In elementary school, I remember learning that if a president is able to appoint a seat- it is part of their legacy from office. We should not tear apart rolls and responsibilities because one party thinks it's unfair. Congress needs to stop acting like a 2 year old pitching a fit and do their job. Maybe if the potential candidate wore a logo filled jacket with sponsor patches, they would actually do something other than wasting time and money because "they think it's unfair". This is life. Every job has things we don't want to do- but at the end of the day, you do your job or get fired/move on. You don't get to keep your job if you pitch a fit about every little thing that comes across your desk.
