We have already been through this with the Republicans who wanted drug testing of welfare recipients. Time and time again it was found that people on assistance are less likely than people not on assistance to use drugs. This is just a dog-whistle by conservatives to suggest that being poor means you must be doing something wrong. They can't seem to get it that the majority are working full-time jobs where the pay is too low to afford food and housing. If they really want to do something, implement a living wage instead of a minimum wage.
