What gets measured gets done. Welfare workers are drastically overworked, underpaid, and too much is expected of them. Such that any requirement that is not explicit is likely not to be a priority in a world where there really are too many problems to fix. Let's make this one explicit. Add it to the things required and recognized as necessary. And can we give these good people a raise or a commendation, while we're at it? Spending your days trying to help people in extremely difficult situations would be trying, at best. They do so much with so little. We need to recognize that.
