Absolutely yes! Congress gets more pay raises than most Americans get within a 5 year timeframe! Someone posed that raises for Congress should be on the ballot for Americans to vote on and I fully agree. However, I will go a step further and perhaps the raises should be given on merit as well and what their job performance is. In that respect raises wouldn’t occur across the board and voting for the raises would have to be staggered over a period of five years. Of course, some may be voted out by then and the problem would be solved. No one in Congress should receive a salary or pension once they leave office—zip, zilch, nada!!
