Unions provide many benefits to workers, most importantly collective action power. If workers earn these benefits from unions without being union members, then they are freeloading off of the work of the union and the dues paid by union members. This idea of "right-to-work" is inherently unfair to unions - who work to ensure the greatest benefits for workers - and for union members - who actually pay dues to receive these benefits. By supporting the "right to work," you encourage big business to undercut workers, and disable workers from being productive producers and consumers in our economy. Unionization is crucial in our capitalist economy and should not be discouraged at the federal level.
