It’s remarkable that this question is even being asked. Normal ppl who royally screw up at their jobs get fired without severance. How nice it must be for Executives that botch their job to the point that the company they’re running goes bankrupt but can still get compensated so well for sinking a company and subsequently costing hundreds, sometimes thousands of employees their jobs.
Executives are so fond of justifying being paid a thousand times more than regular employees by citing the tremendous responsibility entrusted to them. If only actual accountability for colossally screwing up their job we’re included with that tremendous responsibility. Rewarding their gross incompetence with a multimillion dollar golden parachute is a sure way to send a strong message.
