Proof that 1). Our healthcare system is severely broken, 2). Our social class structure is severely uneven, 3). Government should be removed from healthcare, 4). States are creating their own healthcare crises by refusing to expand. Medicaid is a welfare program. It is 1 of 6 major welfare programs, but in an umbrella of almost 80 welfare/entitlement programs. It is also the largest welfare program. It is utilized the most by whites and under the age of 18. It is a low income program. Almost 80% of welfare participants have at least 1 working household member. Yes, I realize these facts are just blowing up everything you've stereotyped welfare to be. Feel free to search these stats yourself at the DHHS. Our social class structure is so uneven that all but 14 states have had to expand Medicaid. If these 14 states expand, it would add millions more of participants. If that isn't one of the largest red flags ever of how large the gap is in our social class. Since 1966, Medicaid enrollment has done nothing but increase by the millions, with the exception of 1975 to 1980. Medicaid and Medicare are the second largest forms of healthcare behind employer coverage and even then, employer coverage counts for less than half of our population and is only ~10% more than Caid and Care. Our employee coverage is riddled with high deductibles, coinsurance, co-pays, and maximum out of pockets that even still, leaves several citizens out of seeking medical care due to high costs.
These stats are astonishing and revealing. Remove government, scrap our healthcare and start over with a completely different system. No one should be refused healthcare. This includes pharmacy drugs as that is just as big of a problem. Take necessary steps to close gaps in our social class.
