Living a short distance (approx 3/4 mile) from an oil rig that blew up last week which rocked our neighborhood with potential for evacuations had we lived closer, or if they couldn’t cap, this is a no brainer. We have one even closer that butts up to residential property lines. When they were fracking, we didn’t want to sit on our front porch or be outside with our children; you do smell it and breath it in. For earth/water and public safety the further from schools, businesses and residents the better. Here in CO they are permitted way to close to schools and residential districts. We are at the mercy of Land owners who have the right to sell or lease their property for mineral rights. 1,500 ft isn’t even far enough; my opinion.
