In this day when people are being refused service and even accosted for their political support, this kind of disclosure would lead to endangering those who support political causes. A better solution for campaign finance reform is to require 1) only people who can vote for a candidate can donate to the candidate. No more PACs, out of area, union or business donations. 2) All donations to a candidate/campaign must be spent on the current election cycle. If they exit the race before the general election, they can turn the funds over to someone else in the race. Any money remaining after the general election must be turned over to the local, state or federal government (depending level of the race) for deficit reduction, or the general fund, if there is no deficit for that level of government. No more letting incumbents sit on massive donations and then only running an add or two and “saving” the rest for the next election, where they do the same thing, only with a larger savings account. 3) Neither the candidate, nor the family members of the candidate, can loan money to the campaign. No more millionaires making “loans” at huge interest rates to the “campaign” to be paid back by the donations of unsuspecting donors.
