We are finally at a place in our national discourse where we can talk about a single payer healthcare system. Americans are finally realizing that healthcare should be an unalienable right to all and should not depend on your race, gender, socio-economic status, or pre existing conditions. We are the wealthiest country in the world, yet our government works for the benefit of the rich minority. The only place single payer is not popular is with the insurance companies who take advantage of the current laws and pharmaceutical companies that continue to increase the pricing of medication. Single payer system would be easier to execute and we can provide those institutions with the legal means to create fair pay scales that do not jeopardize our budget and continues the growth of the private pharmaceutical sector.
