Private sector employers? Other than taxes, it is unlawful for the government to tell a private sector business how to function. Small businesses don't make as much as large businesses. They often can't afford paid sick leave. Forcing more expenses on them simply means that they will have to raise their prices, or lay off employees they can't afford to pay. Employees are smart enough to know that if they need guaranteed health coverage, they can get a government or public sector job. And if an employee is valuable enough to an employer, The employer will often offer sickleave and other benefits voluntarily. If you make it harder for employers to hire people they will simply hire fewer people. Stop insisting that the job market be perfect.
