Hemp has been grown agriculturally for 10,000 years to make fabric. Any ban of its growth is just unnecessary market strain. It looks like marijuana, it’s even related, but you are not going to be able to get high off of it. There is no reason to regulate it at all once marijuana is tackled. If this is the best compromise available now then so be it but I would advise complete deregulation, along with decriminalizing marijuana. Perhaps the latter should proceed the former for better concessions. Going about it before addressing the argument for marijuana is rather worrisome for its prospects of getting deregulated to a lower class drug like alcohol. Hemp was one of the first things to be grown agriculturally. Liberals and Conservatives would benefit if it was treated as such.
