Hey, Operaman and other he men or women who think that “wasting” time and money on victims, regardless of sex, age or whether you are human or not of domestic violence; should be ashamed of yourselves! I AM NOT WISHING, HOPING. ASKING OR ADVOCATING THIS OR ANY PART OF THIS OR ANY VIOLENCE OR ANYTHING ELSE!!! THIS IS STRICTLY TO MAKE EVERYONE THINK OR WALK IN OTHER PEOPLE’S SHOES! Maybe, to learn about the realities of DV, you need to keep your damn mouths shut, your minds open and have to volunteer YOUR TIME AND MONEY to see, hear and experience exactly what happens to DV victims. While we are at it, take away your viagra, ciallis and other erectile dysfunction or whatever shots, drugs and devices and let you experience your significant other abusing you because, sexually you are worthless. Let’s take your job, transportation, home and self-worth and deny you a safe place to live, professional help for body & mind & oh, if you have children and/or a pet, shelter, food and someone you can trust to take care of your dependents OTHER then your abuser while you are recovering from being beaten, raped, broken or even finally seeking shelter. Oh, I forgot most HUMANS and ANIMALS, for that matter would never knowingly do that to you no matter how well deserved it might be. In addition, I dare YOU to tell ANY Special Operations soldier, sailor, marine, ANY member of the Armed Services or First Responders of any country, who have a service, therapy or companion animal that protecting, caring for and saving them in any situations up to and including domestic violence is a waste of time and money, whether personal, city, county, state or federally! You and your cronies might have compassion explained to you the hard way. Two other points, in part of the explanation, the description states “Women”, however, in other parts the members to be protected are listed as “Victims”. Reading the comments, I noticed several objections to “just women” being protected, therefore it is sexist. This doesn’t necessarily concern me since I can email/call/talk to my representatives and senators and as for the wording to be Changed! Also, both the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution speak of the rights of “Men”, but not women, yet we all are suppose to be equal under these historical documents and the law, so I would hesitate to exclude men under this bill’s protection. On the other hand, if it were the opposite I think I would insist on both genders being listed, based on the fact that currently, a woman’s body, health, wages and reproductive rights are considered to be second class to a man’ right for the same, which is a completely different discussion. Last, this bill has bipartisan support, even though according to the progress notes, nothing has been done with it since March 2017. It probably has bipartisan support, because federal would be the only way that all 50 states would treat all citizens the same. Currently, not all states agree on the definition of abuse, staking, violence, etc. and not all states treat the victims as victims, to this day there are still states and localities that blame the victim. Not all states or localities consider domestic abuse, stalking or rapes as felonies, nor do the abusers, stalkers, rapists serve jail time and restraining orders are a joke and not worth the paper or the time it takes to file them in most states. Yes, I agree that with sex slaves, child porn & trafficking, the opioid epidemic, the possibility of nuclear war, terrorism & on & on are very important, but without global assistance, is impossible to make a dent in; this bill maybe something that members of both parties, sexes, religion, race and a majority of citizens can agree on. Any questions contact your government representatives, local news stations, nationwide news stations, newspapers and anyone or thing that you think may be able to ask or answer those questions or get this bill moving or changed or discussed again!
