I'm appalled that this confirmation went through despite the extreme constituent opposition. I don't personally know a single person, from either party, that thought she'd be a good candidate for the job. It shouldn't be possible to purchase a position like this, but that's just what happened here through donations to the party or as Senator Burr called it, "philanthropy". It certainly wasn't because of her stellar qualifications because those were severely lacking. No one in the real world would get a job handling an interview in the way that she did and our public schools are now in danger because of it.
