I do not like this casual talk about "going nuclear," even in this context. I will also be doing some research as to how the rules could be charged about what counts as a passing vote. The rules are in place for a reason, to be sure everyone is represented fairly. A supreme Court justice is in place for a long time; it's important that this person represents the people, even more so than some of our elected officials. I think Gorsuch is a decent pick, but I don't think rules should be changed to put him in place; just as I tought it was unfair when rules were changed to keep Garland out. We cannot abandon the rules set in place as checks and balances, and a good supreme court nominee would agree.
