    This legislation is about control and not about the life of a child. If it were anything else, there would be a huge safety net to protect and provide for children. A rapist or someone committing incest has and would get better treatment in the Alabama courts than the woman raped who seeks an abortion. It is cruel and unusual punishment and for what, a woman making her own personal decision on how to handle her pregnancy. Most birth defects occur between 6 and 10 weeks and would involve a physicians best medical advise for both. Keep abortions safe and legal. Opposed to abortion, then don't have one. If you're concerned about the number of abortions, teach young adults safe sex and distribute free contraceptives. These work.
