While I am not sure of the legal argument claiming that the travel ban is an infringement on the establishment clause, I do think the executive order was untimely and cruel. There should have been preemptive measures taken to make sure that people who needed to get here (ex. The 4 month old Iranian child who needed lifesaving surgery) were allowed legal access into the country. That's my biggest complaint about the ban on the seven countries, because I have to do more research on the subject. However, the Syrian refugee ban for 120 days is inappropriate. According to the Washington Post, there have been only a handful of refugees affiliated with terrorism in the US since 9/11. Of these, NONE have been Syrian. I hope that I am speaking the truth here, but, if I am, than denying those in need who do not pose a threat is un-American. Lastly, Donald Trump needs to show more respect for the legal process, I believe, because the judicial branch does have the right, I also believe, to check the power of the executive for any overreach. Mocking the merit of a Seattle judge to rule on something which is in his power to rule on is also inappropriate. Overall, please make sure you resist the blockage of the Syrian refugee program. I still have to do research on the overall ban itself.
