While the Volcker rule may be considered controversial, and up for debate on potential impact to financial markets, the Fiduciary Rule is a no-brainer. I have personally helped half a dozen friends, in the past year alone, realize they were being misled by investment advisors into high-fee investments that did not fit their investment needs. Pointing these same friends to fiduciaries has led to greater investment momentum due to lower fees, and far better suited products for their retirement plans. It should be fairly obvious that when it comes to retirement planning, an advisor should be planning for the consumer NOT the advisor's pocket book. Please fight to uphold retirement account related regulations that benefit consumers first, corporations second.
