I'm very sorry to say something in this manner, but are you freaking kidding me?? Do none of you in Congress realize that the White House statement sounds eerily like something Holder said in pre-WWII Germany almost 80 years ago? My how time clouds and diminishes our memories. "Protect our homeland." Protect it from whom exactly? From those who aren't white-middle or upper class males like yourselves? From anyone who might look different than you? Who might have been born in this country? 80 years from now what will those people say about our present (their history)? It is time to realize that the people we in America need protection from are already here, and have been here since birth, and are leading our nation down a path from which there realistically may be no recovery. Please stand up and begin to represent those you are tasked with representing. Perhaps that will mean standing up to other Republicans, and even our President. Do the right thing. Make us proud to be Americans instead of ashamed of the country we now must call home.
