With regard to the President's nomination for the Supreme Court, I believe the President should have chosen a compromise nominee. The fact that more people voted for the Democratic candidate for the president and for the Democratic candidates for the Senate means that the president doesn't have a mandate. Despite the fact that the GOP has control of the legislative and executive branch, it seems to me that this particular nominee seems to be nominated from the idea that everyone agrees with the President, but in fact that isn't the case. Thus, I see it as acceptable for the Senate Democrats to filibuster this nominee as the Republicans refused to hold a vote on President Obama's compromise nominee, Merrick Garland. I wasn't happy with nomination but the president had a Republican Senate so he compromised. This president was just elected with the minority of the popular vote and one of the smallest electoral college victories in history. This is a time for compromise and bringing the country together.
