In the past, Gorsuch has interpreted "religious freedom" broadly. He's already announced that employers shouldn't have to cover contraceptives, even though hormonal birth control can be used to treat endometriosis, heavy/irregular periods, polycystic ovarian syndrome, and a host of other reproductive issues. His view on what is or is not a religious issue is troubling, because it means he could use the "religious freedom" clause to allow discrimination on the basis of sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, etc. Furthermore, his rulings on disability cases are troubling. He once ruled that a woman in remission from cancer asking to telecommute so she wouldn't get the flu was an undue burden on her employer, Kansas State University. She wasn't trying to avoid work; she'd been employed there for 15 years. She just wanted to telecommute for two weeks to avoid taxing her weak immune system while the flu was going around campus. For those reasons, please vote against appointing Neil Gorsuch to fill the Supreme Court vacancy.
