This move is in direct conflict with the definition of an emergency. Emergencies cannot be planned or scheduled for some date in the future. This is purely a move by a tyrant usurping Congressional powers CLEARLY outlined in the Constitution, if anyone supporting this power grab would care to read. Shifting money appropriated by Congress to 'win' a fight out of which he could not negotiate is chipping away at the democratic republic in which we live. Stop drinking the Kool-Aid, people, and start paying attention before it is too late! We do not send reps to Congress to take the oath to protect and defend the Constitution and then watch them ignore that oath when Dear Leader flexes his imaginary muscle. This is not about a wall at the southern border anymore -- it is about defending the Constitution, the separation of powers and the rule of law; three things conservatives used to hold dear, until they didn't. This is also not about the blatant hypocrisy shown by the GOP in the last two years - this is about our security as a thriving democratic society. If my reps (Perlmutter, Bennet, Gardner) don't stand in support of the oath they took and against this unconstitutional move, they should be fired, or impeached! You work for the citizens of CO - not some Putin-in-training narcissist lucky enough to reside in OUR White House. If this was truly a National Emergency, would any other Commander-in-chief make the declaration and then jet off to his private club for a weekend of golf? I think not.
