When you look at the vaccination rates of children on the CDC website for measles they’ve been pretty flat for the last 20 years. The issue isn’t with groups of people not vaccinating, that has always existed. These latest outbreaks are most likely caused by adults whose immunity has gone away. Believe it or not, the optimum vaccination rate is not 100%. Contrary to propaganda, vaccines are not 100% safe; they kill and cripple people but hopefully at a much lower rate than the the diseases they protect against. Because there’s a percentage of immunity in the population that stops a disease from spreading, Once past that percentage, which varies by disease, all you are adding between that and 100% is the incremental death and maiming rate of the vaccine itself. I think it’s wrong to force a person to play Russian roulette and not let the person choose the gun. We can try to educate the person to pick the correct gun, but forcing the selection is morally wrong.
