Let’s stop subsidizing corporations by means of tax credits and deductions first. Then maybe after a ten year period we can evaluate whether there are individual deductions that should be eliminated. For too many decades are government has systematically been redistributing the wealth in this country from the middle class to the corporations and wealthiest individual. I support reimplementing the higher marginal tax rates on the wealthiest income earners. We’ve had nearly forty years of ‘trickle down’ failures. Let’s try what worked in the 50’s, 60’s and early 70’s when we had a strong economy and a vibrant middle class. Let’s stop using the stock market rise or fall as a barometer of how our economy is performing. That only measures how the wealthy 1-2% are doing. We need to focus on the 98-99% of the country and come up with a more relevant measure of the health of our economy.
