Congress Considering Cryptocurrency Rules

To our representatives in congress, complying with our securities laws, tax laws, and enforcing an adequate level of protection against scams is as critical as ever in an era where fake ads exploit vulnerable Americans in their educational path to the complex subject of crypto currencies. While many will moan that regulation of this financial side channel, it is not unlike the 2nd amendment debate, where life and death matters are obviously far more serious, but a majority of the population asks for some level of protection from harm. Bitcoin, fortunately, is not protected by the 2nd amendment, and introducing basic principles for exchanges and individual capital gains seems only like a natural and necessary step. If nothing else, the record will be set on what is, and is not already fraudulent, when applying our existing laws to these financial instruments and the businesses / schemes that use them.
