Economically, burning coal, oil or natural gas no longer makes sense. The industry is subject to price fluctuation. Conversely, renewable energy is technology driven and deflationary in terms of price while always producing more as technology progresses. Solar energy is now at or below parity with conventional power output with the added benefit of being clean, renewable and nonpolluting. Even the Middle Eastern countries get this, as the former Saudi oil minister, Sheikh Zaki Yamani was quoted in the economist saying “THE Stone Age did not end for lack of stone, and the Oil Age will end long before the world runs out of oil.”
