Very disappointed that this new bill didn't address at all the elephant in the room - why is medical care so expensive in the United States? Our health care is by far the most expensive of all the developed nations. Much of these heart wrenching issues can be addressed by addressing the fundamental issues that drive healthcare costs - suppliers of medical equipment and drugs making money hand over fist, insurance companies forcing hospitals and doctors to charge rack rates for the uninsured. Oh but this means pissing off the lobbyists, doesn't it? Time to start electing officials who aren't bought by the system.
