Should the House Censure President Trump Instead of Impeaching Him?

Nope. Absolutely not. The House is fulfilling their constitutional responsibility through the impeachment process. The president has clearly betrayed the country for personal gain. He has abused his power and has committed high crimes and misdemeanors. The constitutional remedy for this is impeachment, not censure. And this responsibility falls heavily on the House to meet with all due diligence and seriousness. It is my opinion this is the type of hearings Adam Schiff has been conducting, at least to the extent possible given all of the absurdity and deliberately dishonest self testifying Republicans such as Nunes and Jordan have interjected. The evidence provided by respected, knowledgeable career public servants and even political appointees such as Sondland has been damning to say the least, despite the ridiculous attempts to distract from the facts by Republicans. I cannot comprehend how anyone with ears to hear and even a portion of a brain to reason who is willing to consider the evidence does not understand why this needs to happen if they have been paying any attention at all. Representative Cole, as an avid student of history I know for sure you understand the severity of the situation. The question is do you care? When this comes to a vote in the full body will you honor your sworn commitment to Oklahoma and the nation? Or will you once again opt for political partisanship and put party over country yet again? Please set aside politics, honor the oath of office and do the right thing for the nation. If you don’t, we Oklahomans will remember. I ask the same of you too, Senators Lankford and Inhofe when you sit as jurors in the Senate. My expectations that you will be anything beyond a partisan patsy are extremely low, but it’s never too late to change your ways and start serving the nation rather than your party, yourself and your wealthy donors.
