senate Bill S. Res. 52

Should The U.S. Condemn Russia For Keeping A Ukrainian Fighter Pilot Captive?

Argument in favor

Holding a Ukrainian fighter pilot hostage is a step too far by Russian aggressors. The U.S. has a duty to show solidarity with Ukraine and condemn the actions taken against Nadiya Savchenko.

Argument opposed

The circumstances under which Savchenko was taken are highly disputed. This resolution would do nothing but anger Moscow, and the U.S. has no place butting into a civil war across the globe.

Won't help the pilot...only the politician(s). Feel good waste of time.

Come on congress ... This is a micro issue. Focus on the macro issues and the small ones take care of themselves. Putin and Russia need tough love if the wish to be in our sphere.

The US needs to make peace with Russia. However, the US also should vocally support Ukrainian independence. Instead the US and its NATO allies in Europe seem to want Ukraine to be a part of NATO or EU. Let Russia and Ukraine sort it out without funding Ukrainian rebels.
