Pride Month is an important celebration of the LGBTQ community and its contributions to U.S. history. Formally designating June as Pride Month honors the LGBTQ community and ensures all Americans will have the opportunity to learn about the LGBTQ community’s contributions to our country.
There’s no need to formally designate June as Pride Month at a Congressional level, since Pride celebrations in June are already firmly ingrained in the U.S. culture. Additionally, this may offend Americans who don’t support the LGBTQ community for religious or personal reasons.
