A bill to grant exclusive fishery management authority over the red snapper fish in the Gulf of Mexico to certain States.
Directs the Secretary of Commerce to grant to Alabama, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas exclusive fishery management authority over red snapper fish in the Gulf of Mexico in the area located between the coast line of each such state and the point that is 200 miles seaward of the coast line, consistent with the jurisdictional limit of the exclusive economic zone. Conditions the grant of authority on the governors of such states agreeing on a fishery management plan, certified to the Secretary within a specified period, to govern the management of such red snapper fish.
