Title

Protect and Serve Act of 2018

Official Title

A bill to make a deliberate, targeted attack on a law enforcement officer a crime, and for other purposes.

Violence against police officers is already taken VERY seriously. This law is meant to be a political tool and bargaining chip to force accused individuals to accept plea bargains and cheat citizens out of a trial. Taking a job as a police officer does not make you a marginalized or oppressed individual- it's a well respected career choice. We should not treat the job of police officer the same as being born in to a marginalized and oppressed group.
