senate Bill S. 234

Does The EPA Have Too Much Power To Revoke Mining Permits?

Argument in favor

This bill protects U.S. businesses from the EPA's politicized regulatory process. Reining in that power is crucial to protecting business rights and preventing a disincentive for investing in the U.S.

The EPA should not exist, let alone carry the ability to grant or seize lucrative enterprise opportunities. Allowing government to pick winners and losers leads to corruption and overreach. This is even more serious due to the fact that these raw materials are essential, yet finite resources.

The EPA has become too radical and partisan, congress should revoke any regulating, rule making , or fine imposing power they have and return it to congress as intended by our founders.

The EPA is another agency which needs to be dismantled. Let the states take care of their own business. Each state was intended by our Constitution to be a sovereign state.

Argument opposed

Environmental assessments are not static, and the EPA needs to have the power to revoke a permit when it is being abused or causing serious environmental impacts.

Because the mining industry hasn't ever had a problem with the way it operates right? How about we just stop mining and move to clean energy sources. And let's stop cracking while we are at it too

Our environment is vital to be a successful nation, the EPA needs more regulatory power than it is already given

The EPA has become a government agency of the extreme environmental left to implement policies in order to re-distribute income of the working people.

THE WHOLE BLASTED FEDERAL GOVERNMENT HAS TOO MUCH POWER AND SPENDS WAY TOO MUCH OF THE TAXPAYERS' HARD-EARNED MONEY ON RESTRICTING THE RIGHTS OF AMERICAN CITIZENS AND CODDLING LAWBREAKERS LIKE OBAMA, HILLARY, THE REST OF THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION, BLM, SANCTUARY CITIES, ILLEGAL ALIENS, AND MOST OF CONGRESS! I REALLY THINK ANYONE WANTING A GOVERNMENT JOB OUGHT TO HAVE TO PASS AN COMPREHENSIVE EXAM ON THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA! (Sorry for "yelling," but I'm angry about the fact that too many people in the federal government just pay lip service to the Constitution! God save our Republic!)

I believe that the EPA is overreaching its authority and needs to back off for the sake of keeping them from putting people out of work.

The EPA has no checks and balances and has way too much power as it is. There's a difference between protecting our environment and getting your hands involved in every part of American businesses in the name of the environment.

Unelected individuals with pretty much total job security no matter what they do, what can go wrong with that.
