senate Bill S. 1683

Argument in favor

If we don't need them, why not turn a quick profit by offering them to other militaries that could benefit from them?

Selling surplus naval vessels to America's allies would boost their ability to counter threats to our collective security on the seas.

Argument opposed

It makes no sense to extend our technologies (albeit older technologies) to potentially threatening countries like Pakistan.

Doing things like this always come back to bite us. Let us learn from past mistakes and not do this. How many times has training other forces and selling or giving them our equipment been turned around and used against us and our troops?
