If you're not a citizen you're not supposed to be able to vote so yes they should be checked
Having a driver's license, state id or passport is a reasonable requirement for voting, (since everyone carries one to drive or buy alcohol), creating specific identification for voting IS simply a means of voter suppression and there are no two ways about that. If you don't have the time or means to get the ID or your community isn't made aware of its existence then your right to have a say in the direction of the country is taken away and there is no way to justify that. The idea that voter fraud is a problem is just evidence of the rascist motive behind this idea because the data shows that it is NOT a response to a problem that existed, just a tool to suppress voting that disproportionately effects people of color.
Wow! Introduced in the senate and read twice. They don’t like this common sense, in the best interests of the integrity of OUR elections either. Mmm, I wonder why?
