Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) has repeatedly misled the American public, from his blatantly fabricated “parody” of President Trump’s call with Ukraine’s president while chairing an Intelligence Committee impeachment hearing, to his claims of “more than circumstantial evidence” of Trump-Russia collusion that weren’t borne out by the Mueller report. The House should condemn and censure Schiff for his actions, and he should resign as chair of the Intelligence Committee.
This resolution is an attempt to impugn the character of Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-CA) that will ultimately do nothing more than waste the House’s time. It’s also an attempt to distract from Schiff’s leadership in an impeachment inquiry targeting President Donald Trump’s abuse of power and corruption of the public trust. Those issues are far more consequential than delivering an ill-timed parody or getting duped by a prank call, which don’t merit censure by the House.
