That is a simple way to send stronger message who plan to commit such crime. We stand for diversity and equal rights.

The only hate crimes being committed here are by the people that are pushing hate crimes. Trying to jail, intimidate, harass, sue, threaten to murder those that preach against homosexuality (since it is what the Bible tells Christians to do) is a hate crime. So lets start with the ones who made hate crimes up, if they want to do that, let them get whatever punishment they wished to inflict on the innocent. Get real.

American Justice is supposed to blind to color, religion, sexual orientation. Classifying any crime as a hate crime with a harsher penalty because the crime was committed to a protected person by a non-protected person is discriminatory and violates due process of law. Overly protecting groups of people is simply designed to secure their votes.
