Students are federally protected from discrimination on the basis of race and religion — why should those protections end when it comes to gender identity and sexual orientation? These young people deserve to feel safe in their schools, and this bill will stamp out bullying in their communities.
"Harassment" is so broadly defined in this bill that people who express totally legitimate opinions about the LGBT community could be put in a legal predicament. That violates the rights of those who want to express opposition to LGBT opinions or behavior. Not to mention that this bill won't put an end to bullying. Kids will be kids.
