Any statement that has to do with "immigration" regarding this act is misleading and misinformation. These are criminal aliens. Not immigrants acting under the law. They are not legal refugees. The city officials who harbor such people are committing federal crime. This needs to be enforced we are a nation of laws.

Immigrants have always been the lifeblood of this country. I'm appalled by the Republican agenda that typically argues for limited federal government regulations over local government --except for when it comes to immigration. I'm proud that my city recognizes that mass deportation is not a solution.

Sanctuary places, whether schools, cities, or states are defying the current immigration laws. They need to suffer the consequences until a comprehensive immigration reform is passed.

these aliens are in the country illegally. no one is attempting to refute this fact. that is a violation of federal law. if you are in violation of federal law why should you get federal aka taxpayer dollars. why was az sued when it tried to enforce federal law? I am all in favor of immigration, legal immigration.

These cities and their officials are breaking the law period. Harboring and abetting criminals is subjected to arrests. These communist sympathizer should be arrested and their government held offices revoked. The senate website for 2 hours had a report on immigration before taken down. 72 convicted terrorists have entered the USA yet the 9th circuit court said their was no evidence when clearly their is, shame on the senate for taking this report down.

Our laws need to be followed. We cannot just pick and choose which laws to follow.

The entire premise of a "sanctuary city" is to shield from the Federal government. Therefore, a municipality that considers itself as such should be shielded from that government's assistance until it decides to abide by ALL that country's laws again

Yes. The United States is a country. It has a border and an immigration process, like every major country in the world (that argument was taken from the progressive playbook). If you break the law or ignore the process, you're here illegally. Make the legal immigration process easier, but control the illegal flow so that it actually matters in the first place. I wish progressive understood the difference.

They would be aiding and abetting criminal activity so I have no issue with this especially since sanctuary cities often times seem to waste federal funds and abuse the powers granted to them in many circumstances.

States and local government authorities that declare themselves sanctuary cities are endangering their citizens as well as breaking Federal immigration laws. Not only should Federal funds be withheld, these politicians should be arrested and face charges.

Americans support legal immigration. Illegal immigrants upon entering our country of laws broke Thier first law when entered our country illegally. City and state that don't help or support our federal laws should be delt with quickly and harshly. I saw a survey in California where 80 percent of citizens don't agree with sanctuary city status.

Their is no path to citizenship for unskilled laborers. If they were there wouldn't be a problem like this. We should not kick out working parents who go home to their family every night.

The federal government receives tax money's for specific duties. The federal government receive tax funds to pay for ICE. Local and state tax dollars are collected to pay for local and state police agencies. It is not the job of state and local police to do the job of ICE. Forcing local and state agencies to do the work of a federal agency is unconstitutional. Threatening to withhold tax funds for refusing to do the job of another agency is wrong on all levels.

These sanctuary cities is where you will find the majority of illegal immigration. These cities should be held accountable for aiding and abetting

Sanctuary cities are to be commended, not penalized. These cities are taking on the added responsibility to welcome and integrate incoming immigrants. Being a sanctuary city puts added pressure on the city's government to ensure the safety of all - which history shows works!

My grandparents were Italian immigrants that helped build NYC. We are all immigrants as this land belonged to others before our arrival and destruction of another popultion
